Josh Carrington Makes His Premiership Rugby Debut

Cardiff Metropolitan University RFC is proud to celebrate another incredible milestone for the club, as former Archer Josh Carrington made his Gallagher Premiership Rugby debut for Bristol Bears.


Carrington, who was a standout performer for Cardiff Met in BUCS Super Rugby, featured for the Bears in their clash against Leicester Tigers, marking his first appearance in the top tier of English rugby. His debut highlighted by an impressive performance and a try represents a huge step forward in his rapidly rising career.


Having joined Cardiff Met after progressing through the Ospreys academy and representing Swansea RFC, Carrington quickly became a key figure in the Archers setup. Known for his pace, composure, and versatility across the backline, he was instrumental in the team’s recent BUCS Super Rugby campaigns and earned widespread recognition for his consistency and professionalism.


Carrington’s Premiership breakthrough continues Cardiff Met RFC’s proud tradition of developing players who go on to excel in professional rugby. His journey from university rugby to the Premiership stage is a testament to the strength of the Archers’ high-performance programme and the opportunities it provides for student-athletes to reach the next level.
