Cardiff Met connections feature for Wales as Alex Callender reaches 50-cap milestone
Nine Cardiff Metropolitan University students and alumni have been named in Wales' matchday squad to face Japan in Tokyo on Saturday 24 October, with former student Alex Callender set to celebrate her 50th international cap.

Callender, who currently plays for Harlequins, will co-captain Wales alongside Cardiff Met student Amy Williams in the WXV Global Series encounter at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium.
The milestone marks another significant achievement for Callender, who made her international debut in 2019 and has battled back from injury setbacks to establish herself as a key figure in the Welsh squad.
Five Cardiff Met students and alumni feature in the starting XV, with Williams and Callender joined by Freya Bell, Maisie Davies and Carys Cox.
A further four Cardiff Met representatives have been named among the replacements, with Molly Reardon, Elan Jones, Gwen Crabb and Lleucu George all available from the bench.
Scrum-half Seren Lockwood, who also has a connection to the Cyncoed campus through the Welsh Rugby Union's Player Development Centre programme, returns to the starting line-up following injury.

The selection highlights the continued presence of Cardiff Met students, graduates and associated development pathways within the Welsh international game.
Wales, ranked 11th in the world, will be looking to build momentum against Japan following their narrow defeat to the USA in September.
Japan v Wales takes place on Saturday 24 October, with kick-off at 10:30am BST. The match will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.
