Semi-final stage awaits Cardiff Met cricket

Cardiff Met Cricket will have two teams competing in national semi-finals next week, as both the Men’s 1st XI and Women’s 1st XI prepare for major fixtures on the university cricket calendar.

The Men’s 1st XI will face Loughborough in their national semi-final following an outstanding campaign that has seen the Archers remain unbeaten and secure back-to-back Southern Premier League titles.

Their league success has extended a remarkable 14-game unbeaten run, giving Cardiff Met strong momentum heading into the knockout stages. The semi-final will provide a major test against one of the strongest university cricket programmes in the country, with a place in the national final at stake.

The Women’s 1st XI will also compete for a place in a national final when they take on Leeds/Bradford UCCE next week.

It marks the sixth consecutive year that Cardiff Met’s women have reached the national semi-finals, a significant achievement that reflects the consistency, quality and competitiveness of the programme.

The Archers have once again shown their ability to perform at the highest level of university cricket, with both sides now preparing for fixtures that could define their seasons.

With two national semi-finals confirmed in the same week, Cardiff Met Cricket has another opportunity to showcase the strength of its programme on the national stage.

Both teams will now turn their focus to final preparations as they look to extend their seasons and continue Cardiff Met’s strong cricketing tradition.
