The Jersey-born batter, who has emerged as one of the most exciting young players in the county game, made 67 not out as Glamorgan held out for a draw against Leicestershire in Division One of the Rothesay County Championship.

Coming in during Glamorgan’s second innings, Tribe showed patience and control across 140 balls, striking nine boundaries as the hosts reached 137-2 before the draw was confirmed.

It was another composed performance from the 22-year-old, who is currently pushing for senior international recognition after featuring for England Lions over the winter. Tribe has already attracted attention beyond the county circuit, with his performances for Glamorgan and the Lions strengthening his reputation as a player with a significant future in the game.

His rise has also carried a strong Cardiff Met connection. Tribe represented the university during his development, with his performances in university cricket helping to support his pathway into Glamorgan’s second team and, ultimately, the professional game.

After breaking into Glamorgan’s first team, Tribe has continued to build momentum, combining his calm temperament with a growing record of important innings across formats.

For Cardiff Met Sport, his progress is another strong example of the role university sport can play in supporting talented athletes as they move into professional environments.

Cardiff Met Sport Cricket said "We’re delighted to see Asa start his season with two significant scores after last years promotion to Division one of the county championship. As a club we love to see his career progress"

With Glamorgan back competing in Division One, Tribe’s latest innings offered another reminder of his quality and composure at the crease. For Cardiff Met, it is also a proud alumni story, as one of its former students continues to make his mark at one of Welsh cricket’s leading clubs.
