Mac Jones named Basketball Wales National League MVP after standout season

Cardiff Met Archer Mac Jones has been named Basketball Wales National League MVP for the 2025/26 season following an outstanding individual campaign.

The international student produced a series of exceptional performances throughout the season, establishing himself as one of the competition's leading players and a key figure for the Archers.

Jones averaged an impressive 32.6 points per game across the campaign, highlighted by a remarkable 50-point performance in Round 6.

His consistency was just as impressive, with Jones scoring more than 30 points on five occasions during the season.

While his scoring performances regularly caught the eye, Jones also made a significant contribution at the defensive end of the court, producing strong displays on both sides of the ball and playing an important role for the Archers throughout the campaign.

His performances have now been recognised by Basketball Wales with the Basketball Wales National League MVP award for 2025/26.

There is more good news for the Archers ahead of the new campaign, with Jones set to return to Cardiff Met for a second season.

After an outstanding first year that included a 50-point game, a 32.6 points-per-game average and an MVP award, the Archer will be looking to build on an impressive debut campaign when basketball returns for the 2026/27 season.
