Commonwealth Sport looks ahead to Amdavad 2030 in Glasgow

As the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games drew to a close, athletes, volunteers and members of the Commonwealth Sport family gathered in Glasgow city centre for a special celebration looking ahead to the next chapter of the Games.

The event marked the official transition towards the Amdavad 2030 Commonwealth Games, which will also celebrate the centenary of the Commonwealth Games. A spectacular display of colourful kites filled the city skyline, symbolising hope, unity and the journey from Glasgow to India.

The celebration reflected the spirit of the Commonwealth Games, bringing together nations through sport while recognising the success of Glasgow 2026 and building excitement for what lies ahead in 2030.

For Cardiff Met Sport, it was a fitting way to round off an unforgettable Games that saw students, alumni and staff represent Team Wales across a range of sports, contributing to another proud chapter in the University's sporting history
