New era for Cardiff Met FC as Tomos Lewis named Chairperson

Cardiff Metropolitan University Football Club has appointed Tomos Lewis as Chairperson of its newly established board, the first appointment of this new era for the club.

Tomos, a Partner at Blake Morgan and an experienced leader in governance and strategy, will play a key role in shaping the club’s future. His remit will include ensuring both the men’s and women’s football programmes are appropriately governed, and helping to build a board that can effectively support Cardiff Met FC’s long-term development.

Further appointments to the board will follow in the coming months, strengthening its structure and ensuring the club has the expertise needed to thrive on and off the pitch.

Chris Baker, Director of Football at Cardiff Met, said: “We are delighted to appoint Tomos as the first Chairperson of our new board. This is a significant moment for Cardiff Met FC as we continue to grow both on the pitch and behind the scenes. Having someone of Tomos’ professional calibre and leadership experience join us is a huge step forward. His guidance will help us put the right structures in place to ensure the football club, across both our men’s and women’s programmes, is governed to the highest standards.

Most importantly, it will allow us to build a board that can effectively support the club’s long-term ambitions and create the best possible environment for our players, staff, and community.”

On his new role, Tomos Lewis added: “It’s an honour to take on this role at such an exciting time for Cardiff Met FC. The club has an excellent reputation within Welsh football, and I look forward to working with colleagues to ensure its continued growth and success.”
