Lona “Bon” Gordon Crowned Women’s Street Champion at the 2026 Skateboard GB Scottish Open

Cardiff Met Sport is delighted to celebrate a major milestone for Lona “Bon” Gordon, who claimed victory in the Women’s Street event at the Skateboard GB Scottish Open, held at The Loading Bay on 14–15 February 2026.

Since the end of December 2025, Bon has been working closely with Strength and Conditioning coach Dai Watts, focusing on developing lower body strength, explosive power and landing control. The impact of that work was clear in Glasgow, where she delivered a composed and technically sharp performance to secure the national title.

Alongside the key strength and power components already in place, the programme has focused on developing lower limb stability, rotational force production including jumping mechanics, proprioception, and upper body robustness to help manage the inevitable impacts that come with the sport.

Street skateboarding demands speed, precision, balance and resilience. Bon’s enhanced physical robustness has allowed her to attack features with greater confidence and consistency, particularly in high-impact landings and technical combinations.

Winning the Women’s Street title at a national-level event so early in her development marks a significant breakthrough. It reflects not only her technical ability on the board, but also her commitment behind the scenes.

With a strong physical foundation now underpinning her skill set, Bon’s trajectory is extremely promising. This latest victory in Glasgow signals that she is not just developing, but already competing at the top of the domestic scene.
